Police parade custodial officer in Gombe for defiling 16-year-old boy
The Gombe State Police command on Thursday paraded an Assistant Superintendent of Correction, identified as Umar Adamu, over alleged defilement of a 16-year-old boy in Bajoga, Funakaye Local Government Area.
Adamu was deployed by Nigeria Correctional Service to Bajoga custodial centre.
Parading the suspect, alongside 40 other suspects over varying crimes ranging from culpable homicide, rape and many others in the state, Public Relations Officer, ASP Mahid Abubakar said Adamu would be charged over unnatural offence.

According to Abubakar, the father of the minor Mohammed Usman, reported that Adamu, a 50-year-old staff of Nigeria Correctional Service, had forceful intercourse with his son, adding that efforts were on to charge the official upon completion of investigation to court.
Abubakar said, “Following a formal complaint received on 27th September 2023, from one Mohammed Usman, of Bajoga in Funakaye Local Government Area, that one ASC Umar Adamu, aged 50 years attached to Nigeria Correctional Service, Bajoga took his 16-year-old son into his room and had forceful carnal knowledge of him against the order of nature. Case is under investigation and will soon be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigation.”
Among the other suspects paraded by the command, Abubakar noted with dismay how a woman was wrongly pronounced witch and stripped naked by her accusers, warning the public to refrain from haste judgement.
“On 29th September 2023 at Wuro Kesa quarters, the following suspects Babangida Muhammed aged 29 years, Fatima Muhammed 22 years, Maryam Muhammed 23years, Magaji Muhammed 39 years, Umar Muhammed 52 years, Muhammed Muhammed 52years and Maryam Usman 75 years criminally conspired and accused one Aishatu Adamu of witchcraft, stripped her naked and compelled her to cross one Fatsuma Muhammed who was ill,” Abubakar added.
