The Appeal Court sitting in Abuja on Thursday, nullified appeal against Governor Muhammadu Yahaya.
Yahaya polled 342,821 to emerge the winner having defeated his closest challenger and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Muhammad Barde, who scored 233,131 and the New Nigeria Peoples Party’s Khamisu Mailantarki, who recorded 19,861 votes.
According to a press statement issued by the Director-General Press Affairs Ismaila Misilli the court dismissed appeal by the PDP and its candidate Barde’s appeal.
“The Court upheld the decision of the Gombe State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal affirming Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, as duly elected Governor of Gombe State,” the statement partly read.
