……commits to promotion of healthy, clean environment
The Gombe State Government says it is committed towards maintaining a secured environment for the benefit of well meaning citizens of the state.
Secretary to Government of the State Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, stated this when he received in -audience the Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer Taisha Integrated Services Limited, Mubarak Yahaya Abubakar, in his office on Wednesday.


Represented by the Permanent Secretary General Duties Alhaji Abdulkadir Kawu, the SGS explained that the state has one of the best sanitation systems in the country apart from Lagos State.
He added that the state has been maintaining over 117 roads across the metropolis including drainages to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
While thanking Taisha Integrated Services for identifying Gombe State as one of the places to site their Waste to Wealth recycling centre, the SSG explained that already the present administration under the leadership of Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, inherited a recycling centre which was almost 60 per cent completed but abandoned.
He disclosed that the state government is working towards the completion of the project to create job opportunities for the teeming youths in the state.
He welcomed their proposal for having a plant in Gombe State being the centre of the North-East as apt but informed his guest to forward a proposal through the appropriate channel for government prompt action.
Speaking earlier, the MD/ CEO Taisha Integrated Services Limited Mubarak Yahaya, said they were in the office of the SGS to intimate him about their waste-to-wealth management and to seek for partnership with the state.
He said the company is not only into waste management but also turning waste products to wealth through recycling of waste products.
Yahaya informed Njodi about their plan saying “is to establish a word class recycling centre, the best in Africa where unemployed youths would be engaged through the waste generation and recycling of waste into finished product.”
Some of the products according Mumarak are; turning Maize hulks into textile materials for clothing, refining of waste into a fertiliser to improve Agricultural yields, refining iron and Banana stem into sanitary pat among others and therefore call on the state government for an opportunity to work in tandem with the two critical areas of managing the environment and and converting the waste products to useful.
He appreciated the warm reception accorded him and his team assuring of his companies immediate forwarding of necessary documents as advised by the Permanent Secretary to the relevants quarters.
