The Independent National Electoral Commission, has presented certificates of return to the Kogi State Governor-Elect, Ahmed Usman Ododo, and his Deputy, Joel Salifu Oyibo.
The presentation was done on Friday at the state headquarter of the commission in Lokoja.Speaking shortly after the presentation,the Governor-Elect, Ododo said he would not disappoint Kogites who reposed tremendous confidence in him by voting massively for him.
He expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his vice for creating enabling environment wish the election free, fair and reflect the wishes of the people.
Ododo vowed to continue with the legacy of the incumbent, Alhaji Yayaha Bello and even improve of his numerous achievements which is available for every one to see.
Also speaking, at the occasion,the state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello called on all those who participated in the election to learn lessons from the how it was conducted and it’s outcome.
“The journey of eight years has come to an end,I want to appreciate every Kogite that has stood by us in this journey. I also want to appreciate the President and Vice for creating enabling environment for peaceful, free, fair and credible election devoid of any crisis.
“I urge you all to join hands with his Excellency Ahmed Usman Ododo, and his Deputy to move the state forward,” he said.
