National Youth Service Corps, Adamawa Coordinator, Mr Jingi Denis has encouraged corps members to go for post camp training for more skills and self- employment.Denis made the call at the closing ceremony of orientation programme for 2023 batch C, stream two corps members at Damare orientation camp, Girei Local Government.
According to him, this will give them more opportunities to be self-reliant and employers of labour instead of job seekers after their service year.
“My dear corps members, your massive enrollment and participation in Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) was overwhelming, you are therefore encouraged to go and enroll in post camp training to add value to what you have learnt on camp,’’ he said.
Denis also charged them to be good ambassadors of their families, states and the scheme.
He said, the best way to achieve that is by constantly meditating on the core values of the scheme, which are patriotism, integrity, efficiency, commitment and team work.
He appealed to traditional leaders and good people in the state to continue their own part toward ensuring security and welfare of the Corps members in their respective communities.
According to him, this will make them to be more dedicated in carrying out their duties, wherever they are posted for primary assignment and in Community Development Service.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that no fewer than 1,459 corps members have successfully completed their orientation course and were posted to various places for their primary assignments
