Musa who hails from Shongom Local Government Area of Gombe State told journalists in Gombe on Thursday that his target was to beat the previous record of 11-foot-tall tower set in August, 2019.
He said that, the current record was set by Majid Al Futtaim Retail, Heinz Africa and Middle east FZE in United Arab Emirates (Dubai) is 3.37 metres (11 feet 1 inch).
He stated that preparations were being concluded for the event to hold on Friday at Bangunji community in Shongom LGA of Gombe State.

According to him, he is hoping to construct a six-metre-height packaged food tower which is 19.7 feet tall and 2.63 metres (8.6 feet) taller than the current record of 3.37 metres.

“ I want to set a new Guinness World Record for the “Tallest packaged food Tower” to beat the current holder from Dubai.

“My application for this challenge has been accepted by Guinness World Record on December 14, 2023; so I am putting everything in place to meet the target,” he said.

On how he got approval for the challenge, He said he applied through Guinness World Record official dashboard and the organisation accepted his application and “ I wrote my design and distribution plans as well as the specific guide.”

Musa said he was expected to get evidence of the event, hence, the entire process was going to be documented and the video evidence submitted to Guinness World Record for approval.
Explaining further the reason for the event, the 31-year old said he intended to use the event to raise awareness around food insecurity and the need to tackle the menace.
Musa said tackling food insecurity remained key to ensuring food availability in addressing the growing menace of malnutrition in Shongom communities.
“ I became motivated to set this record due to growing number of malnourished children in our communities” he said.
“This record will entail cooking nutritional food that will be packed into transparent plastic takeaways and stacked to form a tower”he added.

“I am targeting 3,000 primary school children between the ages of five and 10 to be fed with the food.

“The food which will be cooked by seven women who would appear in complete cooking kits will consist of a balanced diet, packaged in about 4, 000 containers and stacked to form a tower,” he said.
