Heartland FC General Manager, Promise Nwachukwu has stated that the process to ensure that the club does not get relegated at the end of the season has begun with the quality of players they are looking at to beef up the team before the commencement of the second stanza of the Nigeria Premier Football League.

Nwachukwu noted that the Naze Millionaires have re-assessed their performance in the first stanza and have found solutions to most of the problems that bedeviled them while reassuring that the second stanza won’t be like that.

He alleged that their unproductive results of the first stanza was their inability to beef the team with more experienced players to complement the effort of the young players that earned them NPFL ticket last season.

“We have gone to the drawing board to note some of the problems we had in the first stanza. It is the reason we have looked for tested players this time around to help us bounce back,” Nwachukwu told Heartland Media.

“The major issue is that we had inexperienced players who were very good during our campaign in the lower league. But when we got promotion to the NPFL, the reverse was the case they couldn’t meet up.”

Nwachukwu also added that the club’s licencing department headed by Tonnex Chukwu is working round the clock to ensure that some of the new players are cleared and registered for their weekend league tie with Kano Pillars.

” We are working very hard to ensure that some of the newly signed players are available for our weekend fixture with Kano Pillars.”

The General Manager also assures Heartland fans and supporters that the club won’t go on relegation but wants them to support the club in their effort to reposition Heartland FC through their prayers and other means.

“Our fans should be patient and pray for the team. I am assuring them that the team won’t go on relegation by the grace of God. The end will justify the means and we would make them happy.”

Meanwhile, Heartland FC have settled for the choice of Awka City Stadium, Awka as their home ground for the start of the second stanza of the league season.

The General Manager of the club, Promise Nwachukwu asserted that efforts have been intensified to ensure that the pitch of the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri is in good enough within the shortest period of time.

He affirmed that Heartland FC would face Kano Pillars this weekend in Awka in the first game of the second round and their subsequent home games until they return to their natural home ground in Owerri.

Nwachukwu calls on Awka fans to support the club and ensure they make the stadium’s atmosphere as charged as possible so that the visitors won’t be able to survive their onslaught.
