Following the commencement of the Ramadan fasting on Monday, Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, has approved 3pm as closing time for Civil and Public Servants in the state.
This was contained in a memo signed on Thursday, on behalf of the Head of Service, Ahmed Abdullahi, by information Officer HoCS office Amos Fabulous, which was sighted by PERISCOPE NIGERIA.
The memo which was dated March 14, explained that the change in working hours would affect Civil and Public Servants, adding that it would suffice till the end of the month-long spiritual exercise.
Our correspondent reports that the change in official hours was back dated to 12th March, 2024.
The memo partly read, “March, 2024, I am directed to inform you that His Excellency, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON (Dan Majen Gombe), the Governor of Gombe State has approved 3:00pm each day as official closing working hours to all Civil/Public Servants in the state to throughout the fasting period.
“This circular is effective from 12th March, 2024, please.
“Kindly bring the content of this circular to the attention of all concerned.”
