….17 others honoured with traditional titles
Mammoth’s crowd of friends and well-wishers on Saturday thronged Pokwangli community in Kaltungo Local Government Area of Gombe State, to witness the turbaning of 18 illustrious sons.



Among those honoured at the elaborate ceremony is Mr Joshua Danmalam, the Information Officer office of Secretary to Government of Gombe State, Professor Ibrahim Njodi.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that Danmalam was turbaned with the traditional title of Sardaunan Tungo.
Speaking shortly after superintending the Turbaning ceremony the District Head of Tungo represented by the village Head of Pokwangli Tambari Zaria, explained that the exercise confirms the official admittance of the recipients into the Tungo Traditional Council.


He described those turbaned as individuals of proven integrity and character who have continually shaped and advanced the social and economic wellbeing of the Pokwangli community in particular and Tungo in general.
The traditional ruler charged the recipients of the various traditional titles to see the honour as a call to greater service as to whom much is given much is expected.
In an interview obtained by PERISCOPE NIGERIA, the newly turbaned Sardaunan Tungo Danmalam, dedicated the award to God Almighty, and those who have impacted his lives in the most positive ways.




Danmalam disclosed that as the Sardaunan Tungo he will spare no effort towards furthering the interest of the district in the manner that will be beneficial to all and sundry.
While thanking Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, for providing effective leadership in the state, the Sardaunan Tungo used the occasion to express his gratitude to the Gombe Scribe, Professor Njodi for his support and encouragement.
