The District Head of Hinna in Yamaltu Deba Local Government Area of Gombe State, Alhaji Idris Isah Ngurkuma III has called on youths to prioritise peace, unity, and dialogue over violence in all circumstances, especially before, during, and after the 27th of April LGA poll.
The traditional leader made the call in an interview with Radio Nigeria Jewel FM Gombe in his palace at Hinna.

According to him, Violence only serves to harm individuals, communities, and society as a whole, adding “it is important for young people to reject it as a means of expressing their frustrations or grievances, hence, the need for youths to stay away from any violence that may harm individual or the society as a whole.”
Ngurkuma, encouraged the youths to channel their energy and passion into constructive activities such as peaceful living, advocacy, and community organising.
He further stated that, “by working together towards common goals and engaging in respectful dialogue with others, young people can bring about positive change and address societal issues in a peaceful and productive manner.”
He urged the youth to seek out peaceful conflict resolution mechanisms, such as mediation or dialogue-based approaches, to address any disagreements or conflicts that may arise during the electoral process, stressing that by engaging in constructive communication and finding common ground, young people can help build a more cohesive and inclusive society that values diversity and respects the rights and perspectives of all individuals.
Ngurkuma lauded Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, for creating an enabling environment in Gombe State, “and most especially by allowing every duly registered political party in the state to participate in the 27 April local government chairmen election as enshrined in the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria,” he added.
