The Islamic Medical Association of Nigeria, Gombe State chapter has established two health facilities, following the high demand to get health services in the state.
Speaking on Tuesday during media briefing in Gombe, Chairman of the association, Nasir Ishaq, noted that the medical homes were part of its contribution to the well-being of the residents.


He stated that although operated by faith-based medical professionals, the facility would give support to every resident in need of medical attention.
Ishaq said, “One of the medical home provided is at Dukku park and has a team of specialists drawn from our members that can attend to patients with various ailments and needs.”

He disclosed that the other one sited at bye-pass was under construction adding that their services are accessible and affordable for all residents of the state irrespective of their faiths.
Also speaking, the chairman committee for projects execution and implementation Dr Ibrahim Adamu, explained that deductions are being made from the members’ salaries to finance their activities, adding that other donors were free to donate for the ongoing projects too.
“The association built mosques in health facilities in the state including that of Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe, Specialists Hospital Gombe and has drugs cupboards in all general hospitals across the 11 Local Government Areas of the state where less privileged patients can go and take prescribed drugs free of charge,” Adamu added.
