Approximately 30 armed police officers are currently stationed at each entrance leading to the House of Assembly quarters situated along Aba Road in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.
The police were ensuring security at both entrance gates of the lawmakers’ estate, with approximately 30 patrol vans positioned to block access.
Following a recent surprise visit to the facility by Governor, the House of Assembly led by Martins Amaewhule claimed that the governor was considering demolishing the quarters.
However, Governor Siminalayi Fubara clarified that his visit to the estate on Thursday was innocent.
