25-year-old Ahmadu Saminu, from Bajoga in Funakaye Local Government Area has been arrested by the Gombe State Police command.
Saminu, popularly known as Malam Mai Batalia, practiced fortune telling in the area with wide clients cutting across the LGA, State and neighbouring states.P gathered that Saminu interpreted dreams, his victim was alleged to have visited him following a nightmare before she was hypnotised and defiled.

Confirming this our correspondent the Gombe State Police Public Relations Officer ASP Buhari Abdullahi, Saminu was arrested for allegedly pregnating someone’s wife.
Abdullahi said, “The victim is 20 years. Her husband Bashiru Bello, reported the case. she dreamt about her mother being a witch but needed interpretation into what she saw only for her to visit Saminu to know what she needed to do. She was lured into his room.”
On alleged pregnancy of the victim Abdullahi said “that is what we can’t say until the medical examination result is obtained. However, the victim claimed she was pregnant for four months but bled and as a result lost the pregnancy. We have taken the victim to the hospital to ascertain the allegation. But the case is in court.”
Meanwhile, some residents of Funakaye have frowned at alleged high-powered interest in the release of Saminu.
A resident who simply identified himself as Hassan, said Saminu is connected to some powerful persons who are currently working to get him out, “Mai
Batalia, has been doing this this is not the first time the police are under pressure to let him out. He consults for some big men and they want him out,” he said.
Another resident, who identified himself as Muhammad, told PERISCOPE NIGERIA that releasing Saminu without punitive measure may spell doom, “Some youths are planning to burn his cows and any attempt to release will not be tolerated. Enough of his nefarious activities,” he added.
