- Compliance 95 per cent successful -NLC insists
As the indefinite strike commence in Gombe State, some private schools and fuel stations have failed to comply on the first day.
Confirming this to our correspondent Secretary of the branch Ibrahim Fika, said much emphasises would be placed on the private sector tomorrow.

Our correspondent reports that following the absence of Yusuf Aish, the branch chairman, Saleh Abdullahi, led the resistance protest on reversal of band, minimum wage, petroleum price increase.
He disclosed that many claimed they didn’t get the directive from their headquarters.
As you know the strike is joint, whether they belong to the Proprietors Association or Private School Tutors Union, you are in because the Proprietors Association is affiliate of Trade Union Congress while the private school tutors is an affiliate of NLC both belongs to the joint action. We will not accept the excuse of not receiving directives i have copy of their directives from their headquarters. Banks complied because that was the first point of call.”
He noted that aside the private schools lack of compliance, “We had over 95 per cent compliance. It was successful apart from private schools and some fuel stations today has been successful.”
