The Jos Electricity Distribution Company on Monday provided reasons for the current power outage witnessed by Gombe customers.
JEDC blamed it on the ongoing industrial action embarked by organised Labour, stressing that the cut emanated from national grid interruption.
This was contained in a press statement signed by Head, Corporate Communications; Dr Friday Adakole.
“The current outage being experienced within our franchise States is a result of loss of power supply from the national grid. The loss of power supply from the national grid occurred in the early hours at about 0219hours of today, Monday, 3rd June 2024, as a result of the ongoing strike embarked upon by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) to press for their demands,” he said.
While urging for patience and understanding, JEDC vowed to do better as power improves, “We hope to restore normal power supply to our esteemed customers as soon as the grid supply is restored back to normalcy. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we strive to serve you better,” he added.
