The Chief Medical Director of Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe, Dr Yusuf Muhammad Abdullahi, has commended the Islamic Medical Association of Nigeria, Gombe branch for its efforts in setting up a befitting facility at a strategic location.
Speaking in an interview with PERISCOPE NIGERIA’s correspondent during his assessment tour to ascertain the readiness of the facility Abdullahi said “such a good gesture will not only serve the public in tashan Dukku and London Mai ‘Dorawa alone, but the entire state capital at large.”
Dr Abdullahi further added that the facility will provide health care services closer to the public and reduce the distance for patients to access health services in tertiary and secondary facilities.
The CMD also added that such services will assist in reducing the work load in Primary Health Centres and other facilities in the metropolis.
Our correspondent reports that Abdullahi was conducted round the facility by the state and FTH, Gombe Chairmen of IMAN Nasir Ishiaq and Dr Aliyu Lawan.
