No fewer than 22 representatives of various Civil Society Organisations were on Thursday trained on writing effective project proposals by Gombe State Network of Civil Society.

Speaking, Chairman of the network, Ibrahim Yusuf, disclosed that the training was aimed at strengthening the capacity of CSOs in the state, “enabling them to source grants from donors and development partners,” he said.
According to Yusuf, such training would in turn contribute to the state’s development.

He said, “The training is designed to make CSOs vibrant and functional in Gombe State,. We want to empower them to access funding opportunities and implement impactful projects.”
Yusuf said the training also focused on resource mobilisation, emphasising the importance of diversifying funding sources.
He tasked the CSOs with enlightening communities in the state on the need to take ownership of interventions from development partners and the state government.
“Next year, we plan to boost the capacity of communities on maintaining and taking ownership of projects and interventions,” Yusuf said.
