The Rotary Club of Kaltungo, on Thursday commemorated World Polio Day, with a comprehensive awareness campaign and free medical outreach at the General Hospital Kaltungo, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to eradicating polio.

To mark this significant day, Rotarians in Kaltungo organised a series of activities aimed at sensitising the community about the importance of polio vaccination and the need to eradicate the disease. The event drew attention to the devastating impact of polio and the progress made towards eliminating it.

As part of their community service, the Rotary Club provided free medical services to patients at the General Hospital Kaltungo. The outreach included free consultations, medical screenings, distribution of medications, and vaccination against polio and other diseases. This gesture alleviated the healthcare burden on the community and reinforced the club’s dedication to public health.

“Rotary International has been a steadfast partner in the global fight against polio,” said Past Assistant Governor, Mohammed Ndus, in a  message obtained by PERISCOPE NIGERIA. “We will continue to support efforts to eradicate this debilitating disease and ensure a polio-free world for future generations.”

The awareness campaign and medical outreach were well-received by the community, with residents expressing gratitude for the Rotarians’ efforts. “We appreciate the Rotary Club’s dedication to our health and well-being,” said a local resident. “Their commitment to polio eradication is inspiring.”

The successful event was made possible through collaboration with local health authorities, medical professionals, and community leaders. By working together, the Rotary Club of Kaltungo has made a tangible difference in the lives of community members.
