In a pivotal effort to enhance educational resources and support continuity in learning, the Gombe office of the North-East Development Commission has officially handed over newly constructed facilities in Government Comprehensive Secondary School, Dadin kowa in Yamaltu Deba Local Government Area to the Gombe State Ministry of Education.
During a ceremony held at the principal’s office, officials from the NEDC emphasised the importance of education as a vital component for rebuilding communities and fostering sustainable development
During the handover event, NEDC managing Director Alhaji Mohammed Alkali, represented by Gombe acting Coordinator, Alhaji Rufa’i Manu, said, thr event marks a significant milestone in their commitment to restoring and enhancing educational opportunities not only government comprehensive secondary school Dadin kowa but the entire State.
He further explained that the NEDC is always recognise that education is fundamental to the growth and development of the communities, that is why the commission found it worthy to spent about one billion Naira and ensuring that all the school necessary needs and infrastructures are put in place.
“The handover of these facilities marks a critical step towards restoring educational services in the region,” said NEDC Managing Director, Mohammed Goni Alkali. “We believe that investing in education is investing in the future of our children and, ultimately, the future of our communities.”
In her remark, the Gombe State Commissioner for Education, Dr Aishatu Maigari, represented by the Director Administration Sa’idu Mohammed, expressed her appreciation on behalf of the state government for the support from the NEDC, saying these facilities will play a crucial role in ensuring that all the students have access to quality education and the resources they need to succeed.

Maigari further stated that, Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya led administration underscores the importance of education as a cornerstone for community development and resilience.
She therefore, appreciate the NEDC for this great gesture, which demonstrates a shared commitment to the future of leaders of tomorrow.
In his remark, the Emir Of Yamaltu Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu FCNA, represented by the District Head of Hinna Alhaji Idris Ngurkuma, emphasised the importance of maintaining these facilities and implementing effective educational programs to maximise their impact.
The monarch explained that the development is seen as a hopeful step forward for many people, reinforcing the belief that education can drive positive change in the community.
“These facilities will go along way to the development of education in government comprehensive secondary school Dadin kowa and we assured the state government that all the facilities will be handled with care,” he said.
He therefore, thanked North-East Development Commission as well as the the Gombe State Government under the leadership of Governor Muhammad Yahaya for his kingdom to benefits from the state of emergency on education recently declared by the Gombe state government.
The handover included several key facilities, such as 16 classrooms, laboratories, renewal solar energy, solar powered borehole, and students hostels, designed to improve the quality of education are expected to accommodate five students and support a conducive learning environment.
