The Gombe State Police Command on Friday arrested two suspects, Abdulrazak Jibrin, and Idris Musa, both 18 years old, from Barunde area of Gombe metropolis.
According to Public Relations Officer ASP Buhari Abdullahi, the duo were arrested for threatening residents at Nasarawo rice milling area.
He noted that the duo will be prosecuted for criminal conspiracy once investigation is completed, adding that they were in possession of dangerous weapons.
Abdullahi added, “We received a distress call from Nasarawo rice mill area that some thugs suspected to be Kalare boys carrying dangerous weapons were moving around the said rice mill, threatening innocent people.”
Explaining further he disclosed that police responded promptly, and the suspects were arrested at the scene. During interrogation, they confessed to planning to attack lawful passersby.
“A sharp knife was found in their possession. The command under the leadership of CP Hayatu Usman urges members of the public to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activity promptly to the nearest Police formation,” Abdullahi stated.
