The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Gombe State Command has launched a three-day sensitisation and awareness workshop to tackle job racketeering and financial fraud within the Corps.
The workshop, which is in line with the directives of the Commandant General, Dr Ahmed Audi, aims to address the alarming rate of ignorance and carefree attitude towards the consequences of these crimes amongst personnel.

According to the State Commandant of Corps, Gyama Gyawiya, on Thursday said the NSCDC has a zero-tolerance policy for any form of fraud among its officers and men.
He urged participants to be professional, careful, and vigilant in their dealings and to avoid any action that may be perceived as fraudulent or corrupt.
“As your state commandant, I urge you all to be professional, careful and vigilant in your dealings,” he added.
Presenting a paper titled ‘Job racketeering and financial fraud’, Barrister Mustapha Aliyu of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Gombe Zonal Office, who enlightened participants on job racketeering, financial fraud, cybercrimes, and advance fee fraud.
Aliyu said, “Because it erodes trust and also undermines our credibility while it also exposes officers and men to legal consequences.”
The Head of Anti-Fraud Unit, Deputy Superintendent of Corps, DSC Muhammed Yunusa, also spoke at the event, tasked officers and men to uphold the highest standards of integrity, honesty, and professionalism at all times.
He said, “The NSCDC’s efforts to tackle job racketeering and financial fraud are crucial in maintaining the trust and confidence of the people and ensuring national security.”
