No fewer than 2000 prospective corps members have been deployed to Gombe State by the National Youth Service Corps ahead of commencement of the 2024 Batch “C” Stream II orientation course.
According to a statement by Ms Jennifer Laha, Head of Information and Public Relations Unit, which was obtained by our correspondent the orientation course will take place at the NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp, Government Science Technical College, Amada, Akko LGA, from January 22 to February 11, 2025.
“The registration commences on Wednesday, 22nd to Friday, 24th January, 2025 with cut-off day, midnight Friday, 24th January, 2025,” Laha stated.
Laha disclosed that the formal opening and swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to hold on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 10:00 am, with the Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Yahaya, presiding over the event, adding “The Chief Judge of Gombe State, Justice Halima Mohammed, will administer the oath of allegiance on the corps members deployed to the state for national service.”
The NYSC urged the people of Gombe State, especially those around Akko LGA and environs, to accord the corps members the usual hospitality and peaceful co-existence that the state is known for.
