Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, has expressed gratitude to the chairperson and members of the State Civil Service Commission for innovative ideas which has seen the service grow in lips and bound.

Yahaya gave this indication when he received the chairperson and members of the State Civil Service Commission who were in his office to present their scorecard signaling the end of their five years tenure Tuesday.

Represented by the Secretary to Government of the State Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, the governor observed that the commission under Rabi Jimeta displayed utmost commitment and due diligence to their assigned responsibilities.

“There was never a time that i discuss civil service with His Excellency that he will not express pride and satisfaction with your stewardship,” Yahaya said.
He said through the ingenuity of the Rabi Jimeta, led Gombe State Civil Service Commission CSC, the commission was able to address the lackluster of the service putting it on the part of progressiveness.

Yahaya therefore conveyed the best wishes and appreciation of the government and people of the state to the chairperson and her team for a job well done.
Speaking earlier, the Chairperson of the Gombe State Civil Service Commission (CSC) Rabi Shuaibu Jimeta said under her five year tenure, the commission was able to meticulously discharge its constitutional responsibility in the appointment, recruitment and promotion of deserving officers.
She remarked that in the period under review the commission was able to restore sanity and decorum in the civil service through the exercise of disciplinary control to public officers found wanting in the discharge of their responsibilities.
She explained that through the five year period, the commission strived to maintain an environment that promote growth, gender inclusion, accountability and transparency as well integrity and excellence in the service.
She added that the commission under her watch was to able to provide a level playing ground in the process of recruitment by creating a portal and website that can be access by interested candidates.
The outgoing chairperson of the CSC further explained that the commission equally introduced a merit-based promotion through competitive examination particularly for officers at the top echelon of the service among other numerous achievements and innovation introduce by the commission to chart a new course for the state civil service.
The chairperson of the Gombe State Civil Service Commission CSC then used the presentation of their scorecard to express their deep appreciation to Governor Yahaya for the opportunity given to them to serve the state, describing the experience gathered as incredible and rewarding.
In attendance are all the permanent members of the commission, the Permanent Secretaries of Civil Service Commission and that of special services and political affairs in the SGS’ office.
