A significant milestone was achieved in Maikaho community, Gombe State, with the launch of an Agricultural Support Programme for 50 hardworking farmers by Rural Health Mission Nigeria.

PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that the project is supported by the Centre for Disaster Philanthropy, with the aim to strengthen food security and rural livelihoods across northern Nigeria.
The farmers received essential farm inputs, including fertilisers, sprayers, seedlings, pest control chemicals, and practical support for livestock production. This initiative follows intensive, hands-on training on sustainable farming practices and livestock production in Gamawa (Bauchi), Maikaho (Gombe), and Nagere (Yobe).
According to a press statement sent to PERISCOPE NIGERIA, the project’s next phase will focus on Gamawa and Nagere, continuing to empower rural farmers and promote sustainable agriculture. The program’s supporters believe that by working together, they can cultivate change and improve livelihoods one farm at a time.
As part of the project’s impact, the farmers are expected to benefit from improved agricultural practices, increased crop yields, and enhanced food security. The program’s emphasis on sustainable farming and livestock production will also contribute to the overall development of rural communities.
