Commandant Idris Jibrin, has officially assumed command as the 14th State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Gombe State Command, succeeding Commandant Gyama Gyawiya (Retd.) who retired from active service after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60.

Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC Gombe State Command the change of command ceremony which held at the Command State Headquarters Gombe, on Friday marked a new chapter in the Command’s history.
During the ceremony, Commandant Gyama (Retd.), reflected on his tenure as a success, highlighting key achievements and expressing gratitude to the Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr Ahmed Abubakar, for the opportunity to serve.
He commended the officers and men for their dedication and cooperation, urging them to extend the same level of commitment to his successor. “It has been an honor to serve the Nation, and I’m proud of the progress we’ve made,” he stated.
In his inaugural remarks, Commandant Jibrin, thanked the Commandant General for the privilege to serve as the NSCDC Gombe State Commandant.
He pledged to maintain the highest level of professionalism, discipline, and dedication, building on the legacy of success established by his predecessor.
“I’m committed to upholding the values of the NSCDC and will work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of Gombe State including the protection of critical assets both public and private and the execution of all the mandates of the Corps,” he added.
CC, Jibrin also promised to work collaboratively with stakeholders and in synergy with all security and law enforcement agencies in the state.
The ceremony was marked by several highlights, including a signing of handover notes, presentation of the Command flag, and a photo session.
The event underscored the NSCDC’s commitment to continuity and excellence in service delivery. As Commandant Jibrin takes the reins, the State Command looks forward to continued progress and achievement under his leadership, With a renewed sense of purpose and dedication, the Command remains committed to its mission of protecting lives and property, maintaining peace and security in the State.
