As the local government election draws closer, four major political caucuses have emerged in the Igando-Ikotun LCDA under our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC). One question on everyone’s mind is: Who are the true leaders of these caucuses?
So far, the following have been identified:
The BATCO-Mandate Caucus (Rauf Aregbesola/Enilolobo): Led by Mayor KK, Federal House of Representatives member, and Akinsanya Lasisi.
The Mandate Movement (TMM): Led by Hon. Adewunmi Dada.
The Justice Forum: Recently inaugurated under the leadership of Reverend G. O. Ikumapayi.
However, the leadership of the fourth group remains uncertain. It is widely believed to be led by Hon. Omotayo Aramide Oduntan, a former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly. Yet, the name of her current political caucus is unclear.
It is important to reiterate:
The Alimosho United Forum (AUF) is currently led by Hon. Bisi Yusuf, with Hon. Omotayo Oduntan serving as the AUF leader in Igando-Ikotun, and Hon. Arizona as an AUF member from the same region.
We’ve observed that this platform, AUF, is now being used to sideline true Mandate Movement members in Igando-Ikotun. This is a direct threat to our political stability and legacy. We are calling on all leaders and stakeholders in The Mandate Movement to intervene and save our cause from being hijacked.
A Word on Hon. Omotayo Aramide Oduntan
We ask again: Which caucus does Hon. Oduntan belong to now?
It is public knowledge that she was recently expelled from The Justice Forum. So, who is backing her, and on what basis, in Igando-Ikotun LCDA? Her removal as apex leader of the LCDA was rooted in allegations that she compromised her caucus allegiance for selfish interests.
We will not take this lightly. Some political actors are attempting to manipulate public perception and deceive the people. We have worked hard to calm tensions, but we cannot sit idly while our mandate and political structure are dismantled.
We thank Almighty God, our President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, and Hon. Bisi Yusuf for liberating Alimosho from oppressive leadership. However, we are now bitterly concerned about the situation in Igando-Ikotun, especially regarding the chairmanship position. It must be returned to its rightful place.
We believe in party supremacy — but we will not be swayed by falsehoods and deception.
We hereby appeal to our respected leaders of thought to intervene and stop those attempting to sell out the people of Igando-Ikotun once again.
Igando-Ikotun deserves better leadership.
Signed, Concerned Igando-Ikotun Stakeholders and Leaders
