In a landmark event that drew top dignitaries and political heavyweights from across Nigeria, Honourable Ali Isa, the Minority Whip of the House of Representatives, inaugurated a series of constituency projects in Cham, Balanga Local Government Area of Gombe State.
The event also featured the flag-off of a large-scale empowerment programme, drawing applause from constituents and party leaders alike.
The occasion was graced by the Honourable Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, GCON (Iyan Zazzau), who commissioned key infrastructure projects facilitated by Hon. Ali Isa.

PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that these included the 7-kilometre Talasse–Bangu Road, 4-kilometre Kulo–Kwasi Road, and the 5-kilometre Cham Township road network. Additional projects such as the ongoing Laushi Daji Road in Billiri LGA and the Dadiya Road in Balanga LGA were highlighted as ongoing efforts aimed at improving mobility, trade, and agricultural productivity across the constituency.
In his address, Isa expressed immense gratitude to the Speaker for honouring the invitation and providing unwavering support to members of the House. He also acknowledged the presence of several dignitaries, including former Speaker Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, and former Gombe State Governor, Senator Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, for their roles in promoting development and peace across the state.
“This event is not just a celebration of completed projects; it is a demonstration of our unwavering commitment to deliver the dividends of democracy,” Hon. Isa stated. He described the projects as part of a broader vision to address poverty through job creation, improved access to infrastructure, and human capital development.
As part of the empowerment programme, over 2,000 constituents from all 20 Wards of the Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency are set to benefit from various tools and resources including mini tractors, irrigation pumps, motorcycles, farm inputs, vehicles, and more. Earlier this year, Hon. Isa had distributed over 2,000 empowerment items and donated ambulances to boost healthcare access.
Other achievements over the past two years include the commissioning of more than 30 schools, over 40 solar-powered boreholes, solar streetlights in 60 communities, and the construction of clinics, churches, and mosques—including religious facilities at Government Girls Secondary School, Tiksir.
Hon. Ali Isa also disclosed that over 100 federal employment slots have been secured for his constituents, adding that the projects and interventions have been non-partisan, cutting across all religious, ethnic, and political lines.
In a notable gesture of unity and tradition, Hon. Isa presented Lexus 470 SUVs to all former representatives of the constituency and the four paramount traditional rulers in December 2024, honouring their roles in peace and development.
Despite these accomplishments, Isa emphasized that more work lies ahead. “With your continued support and prayers, the next two years will surpass what we’ve achieved so far,” he assured constituents.
