In a continued demonstration of his commitment to education and youth empowerment, philanthropist Yahaya Barambu has once again extended financial support to indigent students at Gombe State University.

Just two days ago, Barambu donated the sum of N24,015,516 to cover the tuition fees of 304 students from Gombe State. This act follows a similar donation made last year, where he provided N4,328,264 to support 60 students at the same university.
With this latest gesture, Barambu has now assisted a total of 364 students, contributing a cumulative amount of N28,343,780 towards their education.

According to his representative, Safiyanu Danladi Mairiga, the beneficiaries of this year’s donation were drawn from the 11 local government areas of Gombe State as follows:
Akko – 40 students
Yamaltu/Deba – 30 students
Gombe – 50 students
Kwami – 25 students
Funakaye – 25 students
Dukku – 25 students
Nafada – 25 students
Balanga – 20 students
Billiri – 20 students
Kaltungo – 20 students
Shongom – 20 students
Speaking on behalf of Yahaya Barambu, Mairiga expressed hope that the financial assistance would ease the burden on the students and their families, enabling them to focus on their studies and contribute meaningfully to national development.
“This intervention is part of Yahaya Barambu’s deep commitment to human capital development, especially in the area of education. We are optimistic that this support will help students stay in school, complete their studies, and ultimately contribute positively to our society,” Mairiga said.
The donation has been widely praised by students, parents, and community leaders as a timely and impactful intervention amid rising educational costs.
