The Arewa 19 Pyramid for Grassroots Development on Saturday declared its full support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, urging political actors to avoid divisive rhetoric capable of derailing national progress.
Speaking during a press briefing, the Convener of the movement, Ahmed Abdulraheem, emphasised the importance of unity and focus in governance, particularly at a time when Nigeria is striving toward stability and growth.
He said, “We gather here today not just as concerned citizens, but as committed stakeholders in the future of our region and our nation.
“This is a defining moment — a time to set aside distractions and firmly support the leadership steering our country toward progress.”
Abdulraheem noted that the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, remains a strong symbol of inclusion and competence, stressing that his contributions to the 2023 general elections and the ongoing governance process cannot be overstated.
“Senator Shettima has earned his place through years of service, sacrifice, and dedication to the unity of this country. Undermining him is not just an affront to the North — it is a disservice to the nation,” Abdulraheem declared.
The group expressed concern over what it described as “unnecessary political speculation and divisive narratives” aimed at weakening Shettima’s role in the government. Abdulraheem called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to remain focused on delivering good governance rather than fueling internal tensions.
“The time for elections will come,” he said, “but now is the time to deliver on promises, to serve the people, and to build a more secure and prosperous Nigeria.”
Arewa 19 Pyramid pledged to continue promoting unity, youth empowerment, civic engagement, and inclusive development across the 19 northern states and beyond.
Abdulraheem concluded with a call to action: “Let us stay focused. Let us stay united. And let us always remember: Nigeria first, politics later.”
