No Faction in Gombe ADC, says Chairman

The Gombe State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Tuesday hosted a major convergence of coalition partners and stakeholders in Gombe, in a move to reposition the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at the event, the Gombe State Chairman of the party, Comrade Danladi Ya’u, firmly dismissed reports suggesting internal divisions within the state chapter. “Let me make it categorically clear, there is no faction in Gombe ADC. We are united, focused, and working as one family with a clear vision for the people. Those spreading rumours of crisis are enemies of progress,” he said.
He further declared that the ADC is fully prepared to emerge victorious in the 2027 general elections. “We are not just contesting, we are winning. Nigerians are ready for a shift, and ADC is the vehicle for that transformation,” Comrade Ya’u stated confidently.
He called on the public, particularly youths, women, and professionals, to embrace the party, describing the ADC as a growing political platform with the capacity to accommodate all Nigerians. “Our party is big enough to carry everyone along. We are building a truly people centered platform that listens, responds, and delivers. I urge every patriotic Nigerian to join us in rescuing the country from stagnation,” he added.
Also speaking, the State Organizing Secretary, Mr. Paul Shamaki, noted that the convergence was a strategic milestone aimed at harmonizing structures and strengthening the party across all 11 local government areas. “This is not just a meeting, it’s the foundation for a political revolution in Gombe and Nigeria at large. ADC is a home for progressives,” he said.
Dahiru Adamu, the State Treasurer, assured members of financial integrity, stating, “We will ensure that all funds are managed transparently and directed toward community-based development and electoral success.” On his part, the Youth Leader, Abdulkadir Sa’idu Degri, encouraged young Nigerians to take advantage of the opening the ADC provides. “The time of sitting on the fence is over. We must own this party and lead the change we desire,” he declared.
There are growing expectations across the political landscape that leading national figures such as Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Nasir El-Rufai may consider the ADC as a prepared and credible coalition platform ahead of 2027. Analysts point to the party’s internal stability, grassroots structure, and inclusive policies as key reasons it is emerging as a natural home for those seeking a fresh national alliance. The Gombe convergence, observers say, is a sign that the ADC is not just positioning itself as a regional actor, but as a national force ready to shape Nigeria’s political future.
