In a bid to ensure a safe and peaceful Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Gombe State Command, has deployed 900 officers and men across strategic locations in the state.
The State Commandant, Jibrin Idris, in a press statement signed by Public Relations Officer SC Buhari Saad, said the deployment is part of proactive security measures aimed at safeguarding lives and property during the festive period.
The statement partly read, “We are committed to ensuring that residents and visitors to Gombe State celebrate Eid-el-Kabir in a safe and secure environment.
“This deployment is in line with our mandate and operational order No. 5/2025, which outlines detailed security strategies for the period.”
According to him, personnel have been stationed at key worship grounds, critical infrastructure, and other public spaces across the state. The operation involves Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, Tactical Unit Commanders, and other specialised units.
“Our primary objectives are to prevent any security breaches, protect public and private assets, and maintain law and order before, during, and after the celebration. We will not leave any stone unturned in ensuring the safety of all,” the statement added.
He urged the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by reporting any suspicious activity.
“I want to wish all Muslim faithful a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Kabir celebration. Let us all be law-abiding and support our officers as they carry out their duties,” he said.
The statement further reaffirmed the NSCDC’s commitment to its duty.
“The NSCDC in Gombe is dedicated to providing top-notch security services. We are fully prepared and resolute in our mission to safeguard the lives and property of the good people of Gombe State,” he said.
