The Gombe State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Jibrin Idris, has intensified efforts to strengthen collaboration with the state’s judicial system through a series of high-level courtesy visits aimed at enhancing justice delivery.
During a recent visit to the Gombe State Ministry of Justice on Wednesday, Commandant Idris met with key officials, including the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Barrister Zubairu Muhammed Umar, who was represented by the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary, Barrister Mohammed Ismaila Hinna.

The Commandant emphasised the NSCDC’s resolve to build stronger institutional ties with the judiciary, describing justice as a collective responsibility.
“We are here to reaffirm our commitment to supporting the judicial system in ensuring the rule of law and peaceful coexistence. The Corps cannot function in isolation; justice delivery is a shared task,” Idris said.
Earlier, on May 19, 2025, the Commandant also paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Judge of Gombe State, Justice Halima Mohammed, at the State High Court.
The visit was part of his ongoing familiarisation efforts since assuming leadership of the Command.
“These engagements are important for synergy. Without cooperation between law enforcement and the judiciary, the justice system would be weakened,” he noted during the visit.
In both meetings, discussions centered on strengthening inter-agency cooperation and identifying areas of mutual interest. Commandant Idris stressed the importance of working closely with the judiciary to ensure swift and fair administration of justice across the state.
In response, the judicial officials welcomed the initiative, expressing readiness to collaborate with the NSCDC in maintaining law and order. Barrister Hinna, speaking on behalf of the Attorney General, said, “We appreciate this proactive approach. Working together will help eliminate delays and reinforce the integrity of the justice system.”
The visits, according to NSCDC Public Relations Officer, SC Buhari Saad, reflect a renewed commitment by the Corps to engage key stakeholders in the justice sector as part of broader efforts to improve security, uphold human rights, and ensure accountability.
