In a bid to improve urban mobility and provide affordable transport options for residents, the Gombe State Transport Service, popularly known as Gombe Line, has officially commenced its evening town service operations across major routes within the state capital.
Periscope Nigeria reports that the announcement is a sequel to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s media chat, geared towards making movement easy for residents over motorcycle restriction.
The service, which runs daily from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., offers a flat rate of ₦100 per trip, covering multiple key routes to enhance accessibility and ease nighttime travel for commuters.
Disclosing this via his Facebook page the Director General and Sole Administrator of Gombe Line, Dr Sani Sabo, said the initiative was introduced to support residents who move around the city during late hours, especially traders, workers, and students.

Sabo noted that the service is part of our commitment to ease movement within the metropolis, particularly for residents who commute after regular business hours.
He further underscored the challenges people face at night in accessing safe and affordable transportation, and we are responding with a practical solution.

The designated routes for the town service include:
Roundabout (Cross) – Tunfure – NTA
Roundabout (Cross) – Kasuwa – Bye Pass
Kasuwa – Roundabout (Cross) – Pantami
AG Dalibi Roundabout – Low-cost – Bye Pass
Roundabout (Cross) – Liji
Roundabout (Cross) – GSU – Arawa – Kundulum
Idi – Unguwa Uku – Kagarawal – Wuro Kesa
Kasuwa – Kasuwan Mata
Roundabout (Cross) – Mega Park
Sabo added that the buses are equipped to ensure commuter safety, comfort, and reliability during night operations.
“Our goal is not just to provide transport, but to provide it with dignity and consistency,” he said. “We encourage the public to take advantage of this affordable service. At just ₦100, it’s one of the lowest fares you can find anywhere in the country.”

Commuters have welcomed the move, describing it as timely and necessary. “This will really help those of us who close late from work. Taxis are expensive at night, and bikes can be risky,” said Halima Musa, a civil servant.
Gombe Line assured residents that the new evening town service is just the beginning of broader efforts to expand safe, affordable, and efficient transport services across the state.
“This is a people-focused initiative. We’re not only easing movement—we’re supporting livelihoods, boosting the local economy, and strengthening security through organised mobility,” Dr. Sabo concluded.
