Social media activist, Verydarkman, has announced a nationwide environmental cleanup campaign that will see his loyal followers, popularly known as Ratels, engage in massive sanitation exercises across all 36 states of Nigeria beginning November 29, 2025.
The initiative, according to him, is designed to foster patriotism, promote volunteerism, and encourage Nigerians to take ownership of their communities by ensuring cleaner surroundings.

“This is not politics, this is service. I am calling on all Ratels and well-meaning Nigerians to join hands in sweeping our streets, clearing blocked drainage systems, and properly disposing of waste. A clean environment means a healthier nation,” Verydarkman said while unveiling the project.
The activist stressed that the cleanup is a voluntary civic duty, urging participation from youths, market women, artisans, and community leaders. He described the campaign as a symbolic act of unity and patriotism, cutting across ethnic, religious, and political divides.
“We cannot continue to wait for government alone to fix everything. Every citizen has a role to play in building the Nigeria we want. If we start by keeping our homes, streets, and markets clean, we will reduce diseases, floods, and environmental hazards,” he added.
The exercise will run simultaneously in the six geopolitical zones, with coordinators expected to mobilize volunteers in major towns and rural communities. Participants are encouraged to come out with cleaning tools such as brooms, rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, and protective gear.
Observers say the move reflects a growing wave of youth-led civic action in Nigeria, where social influencers are increasingly mobilising their audiences for social impact beyond digital activism.
