The Gombe State Government has congratulated Professor Muazu Usman Shehu, Principal Private Secretary (PPS) to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, on his induction as a Fellow of the Nigerian Anthropological and Sociological Practitioners Association (NASA).

In a congratulatory message on behalf of the government, the Secretary to Government of Gombe State, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, described the honour as a well-deserved recognition of Professor Shehu’s academic excellence, professional service, and contribution to humanity.
“On behalf of the Government and good people of Gombe State, I wish to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Professor Muazu Usman Shehu on his induction as a Fellow of the Nigerian Anthropological and Sociological Practitioners Association,” Prof. Njodi said.
He noted that the award was a testament to Prof. Shehu’s “outstanding scholarship, commitment to research and teaching, and dedicated service to both the Association and the larger society.”
According to the SGS, Prof. Shehu’s recognition “is a source of pride not only to his colleagues in academia but to the entire Gombe State, as it reflects the government’s vision of excellence and service.”
Periscope Nigeria reports that Nigerian Anthropological and Sociological Practitioners Association (NASA), the umbrella professional body for sociologists and anthropologists in the country, conferred its most prestigious honour — the Fellowship of NASA (FNASA) — on Prof. Shehu alongside eight other eminent scholars during its Annual General Meeting held this week at the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State.
The Fellowship, which represents the association’s highest recognition, is reserved for distinguished academics and practitioners who have made significant contributions to the development of Sociology and Anthropology in Nigeria.
Prof. Njodi reaffirmed the state government’s pride in Prof. Shehu’s achievements, stating, “We are proud of his accomplishments, particularly his commitment to research, academic excellence, and good governance.”
