The Secretary to the Government of Gombe State, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, has urged Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) under his office—particularly those responsible for budget preparation and defense—to be meticulous throughout the ongoing budget exercise.
Prof. Njodi gave the charge while addressing heads and accounting officers of MDAs under his supervision shortly after their budget defense sessions before the Gombe State House of Assembly.
He emphasised that budgeting is a critical governance process that must be handled with the seriousness it deserves. The SSG also cautioned against absenteeism during bilateral engagements with the Budget Office, stressing that such behavior undermines the integrity of the exercise.
While congratulating the MDAs for a successful defense of the 2026 budget, Prof. Njodi reiterated Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s zero-tolerance stance on corruption. He urged officials to uphold prudence, accountability, and strict adherence to budget guidelines as core operational principles.
The staff, in response, appreciated the SSG for his guidance and assured him of their continued commitment to efficient service delivery.
