The Minority Whip of the House of Representatives and member representing Billiri/Balanga Federal Constituency, Dr. Ali Isa (JC), on Friday inaugurated an ultra-modern mosque in Buwangal community, Balanga Local Government Area of Gombe State.

Speaking during the event, the Chief Imam of Buwangal and Chairman of the Gombe State Council of Scholars, Sheikh Hamza Abdulhamid, urged Muslims to remain steadfast in observing the five daily prayers.

Delivering the first Friday sermon at the newly commissioned mosque, Abdulhamid emphasised the importance of prayer as one of the core pillars of Islam.
“Observing the five daily prayers is fundamental to Islam. This mosque should serve as a centre for spiritual growth and unity among the people,” he said.
He commended Dr. Ali Isa for investing in religious infrastructure, noting that such efforts promote moral discipline and community development.
Earlier in his remarks, Dr. Hassan Haruna, said the lawmaker was following the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in promoting Islam and supporting humanity.
“Dr. Ali Isa is emulating the Prophet in the propagation of Islam and service to humanity. His representation has positively impacted the lives of his constituents,” he said.
Leaders of religious organisations, including the Chairman of Izala in Gombe State, Engr. Salisu Muhammad; the Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) representative, Isa Idris Ahmad; and a representative of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Balanga LGA, called on other leaders to emulate the lawmaker’s inclusive approach.
“Development should cut across religious lines. What we see here today reflects unity and commitment to the well-being of all,” one of the speakers noted.
They described Dr. Ali Isa’s interventions in both Islamic and Christian communities as commendable and urged citizens to avoid religious divisions.
Also speaking, Chairman of Employment and Empowerment Committee, Alhaji Yusuf Manu, said the mosque project was part of a broader initiative by the lawmaker to support both Muslims and Christians.
“This project is part of a deliberate effort to meet the spiritual needs of the people. The member has supported the construction of mosques and churches, as well as sponsored lesser Hajj and Christian pilgrimages,” he stated.
Similarly, the member representing Kaltungo/Shongom Federal Constituency, Dr. Shehu Obed, praised the people of Tangale/Waja for their long-standing tradition of peaceful coexistence.
“Tangale and Waja communities are known for living in peace. I urge you to sustain this unity for continued development,” he said.
In his address, Dr. Ali Isa said leadership comes with the responsibility of fairness, justice, and fear of God.
“It is the duty of leaders to ensure equitable distribution of resources and to lead with the fear of God. I will continue to serve all my constituents without discrimination,” he assured.
He called on citizens to respect constituted authority and maintain peace, stressing that power ultimately comes from God.
The lawmaker also commended Governor Muhammadu Yahaya for ongoing developmental projects in Gombe State.
In his goodwill message, the Ndugurah Cham, Dr. James Chachis, lauded Dr. Ali Isa for his leadership style, urging him to continue to lead with patience, wisdom, and forgiveness.
“Leadership requires perseverance and unity. We must avoid actions that promote division along religious lines,” he advised.
The highlight of the event was the formal commissioning of the mosque, attended by community leaders, religious scholars, and political stakeholders.
