President Bola Tinubu has taken a swipe at the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, questioning his capacity to lead Nigeria while accusing him of abandoning Anambra State in the face of erosion challenges.

Tinubu made the remarks on Friday during a political campaign rally in Akwa Ibom State, where he ridiculed Obi’s presidential ambition and questioned his leadership credentials.
“You want to compare my brain with that of Peter Obi? He ran away from erosion in Anambra and now wants to be president, president of where? Lilikabu,” Tinubu said.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that the President’s remarks appeared to be a direct attack on Obi’s record as former governor of Anambra State and his ambition to contest the 2027 presidential election.
