The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Taraba State has said that President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s alleged strategy of oppressing opposition parties is rather making them more popular.
Alhaji Sadiq Adamu, spokesperson for the Abubakar Tutare Gubernatorial Campaign Council, stated this on behalf of the ADC governorship candidate, Alhaji Abubakar Tutare, while reacting to a court ruling that invalidated the party’s leadership.
Adamu described the judgment as a plot by President Tinubu and the APC, saying it was a mere distraction that would not sway the commitment of ADC supporters.
The campaign spokesperson urged party members and supporters to remain calm and resolute, alleging that the APC was afraid of facing a formidable opposition in the forthcoming general election because of the administration’s failure to deliver on its promises to Nigerians.
He said, “The more APC and President Tinubu try to oppress us, the opposition, the hotter we become.
“The court ruling yesterday is just a mere distraction that our supporters cannot be convinced by. We urge all members and supporters to remain resolute and calm.
“After failing to deliver on the mandate Nigerians entrusted them with, Tinubu and the APC are afraid to go into the forthcoming general election with a formidable opposition. Yesterday’s court judgment is one of their strategies plotted to weaken the opposition,” the ADC governorship campaign council spokesperson stated.
