Gombe State governor, Inuwa Yahaya Thursday, said demonstration of political will, will in no small measures end insecurity and ensure the sustenance of peace across the country.
“My administration will continue to explore the political will, with a view to ensuring the sustenance of peace in his state, North-east and the country at large,” he said.
Yahaya disclosed when he received the acting General Officer Commanding, 3 Division, Jos, Brig. Gen. Musa Danmadami who paid him a courtesy call at the Exco chamber, Government House, Gombe.
Yahaya restated his administration’s commitment towards supporting the Nigerian Army, adding that all hands must be on deck to solve the security challenges in the North-east region.
He equally tasked the GOC to go round all the vulnerable areas, with a view to nipping the bud, any security challenges that may likely arise in such areas.
Yahaya stressed that the influx of people from different states facing security challenges into Gombe State, is threatening the peaceful atmosphere of the state and as such called on the military to ensure that it does not fall into danger.
Besides telling his guests that his administration will continue to support the military, Yahaya also noted that “there is limit to what we can shoulder in financial responsibility, but with the little we have, we will shall ensure it is used to sustain peace.”
Speaking Earlier, acting GOC, 3 Division, Jos, Brig. Gen. Musa Danmadami said he was on familiarisation tour of formations and units under his command.
