Elections:Gombe NYSC Coordinator Meets INEC REC
The State Coordinator NYSC Gombe, Mrs Ada Imoni, has paid courtesy call on the Resident Commissioner, Independent National Electoral Commission, Alhaji Umar Ibrahim, to discuss the welfare and security of Corps members ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Imoni, while commending the cordial relationship existing between the Commission and the National Youth Service Corps, said the welfare and security of Corps members should be given top priority.
“I want to solicit for your cooperation in regards to transporting Corps members to their location and accommodation for the period they would be participating in the electoral process as adhoc Staff,” she said.
In his response, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Ibrahim, NYSC engagement is a policy not to be compromised by the Commission, adding that Corps members transportation to the Registration Area Centre would be taken care of.
He also said Local Government Inspectors would be involved in the elections for effective monitoring of their Corps members.
