Don’t pity me – Tinubu tells Nigerians
…. says I asked for the job of President
The President-elect Bola Tinubu, on Sunday during an inauguration dinner and gala night said he should not be pitied for the enormous task of presiding over Nigeria.
Tinubu, said he knew the work load before seeking the position, adding that he would deliver.
Our correspondent reports that the gala night is part of activities planned ahead of May 29 handing over ceremony between Muhammadu Yahaya and Tinubu in Abuja.
He said, “Don’t pity me I campaign for it. I asked for it, I will deliver.”
He lauded his predecessor for his efforts, adding that he would seek for his counsel no matter where he decides to reside after handing over, adding that “No matter how short a man is he will see the sky.”
Speaking, Buhari commended attendees especially the heads of African countries for being present.
While commending the electoral process that brought Tinubu to power, Buhari said for the first time governors failed in their quest to become senators, adding that he looks forward to the Inauguration day so that he could relocate to take care of his livestock.
“10 serving governors failed to make it to the senate, it’s historic. It means Nigerians are aware of their powers. I congratulate the governors that were elected. I’m looking forward to going to base to my cows and sheep, which are easier to be controlled than my fellow Nigerians,” Buhari said.
