Foundation donates Medical Centre to Tula community in Gombe

The Jennifer Etuh Foundation on Monday inaugurated an ultra-modern medical centre in Tula, Kaltungo Local Government Area of Gombe State.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that the facility which was sited on an expansive 6.5 Hectares, with complete Outpatient Department, two consulting rooms, pharmacy, ultrasound room, neonatal care unit, delivery and recovery rooms, male and female wards and a theatre.

Others are; equipped laboratory unit, ambulance services and an administration and accounts unit; including a staff accommodation consisting of two-bedroom housing for doctors, two self-contain flats for nurses and four service apartments and a 100-seating capacity chapel.
Speaking shortly before the inauguration, Chairman of the Foundation Thomas Etuh, said this was the fourth in a role that the organisation was opening, adding that it was the dream of his deceased wife Jennifer, that succour be given to the downtrodden through medical support.

According to him, the opening of the facility also commemorates the posthumous birthday of Jennifer, adding that it was her desire to build such facilities across the six geopolitical zones.

He said, “by the grace of God, Jennifer Etuh Foundation has carried out this vision, we commissioned the first Medical Centre in Odu in Kogi State on the 26th of January 2022, the second in Kagoro, Kaduna State on the 11th of July 2022, the third in Ifewara, Osun State on 26th of April 2023, the fourth Medical Centre is being commissioned on her posthumous birthday today, here in Tula, Gombe State.”
Also speaking, Vice Chair & Trustee of the Foundation, Sarah Omakwu, described Jennifer as a humanitarian whose life and death is a testament of love and service.
She said, “the Foundation has intervened in the education and empowerment of women and girls from all works of life with support ranging from fees, vocation starter asks and finance for petty trading to counselling on godly life choices.”
On his part, Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, urged the community to take ownership of the facility, promising to construct road leading to the facility for ease of movement.
He commended the organisation for selecting Gombe among its list of states to benefit from the deceased last wishes, stressing that the residents should get enrolled in the state contributory health care insurance policy.
Also, the traditional ruler, Mai Tula Abubakar Buba-Atare, promised that his people would utilise the equipment well, adding that the gesture would ensure universal health coverage especially for vulnerable people.
