The new national Chairperson of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists Aisha Bura has taken her oath of office at the national delegate conference held in Abuja.
Aisha Bura emerged winner as the new Chairperson of the association after defeating incumbent Ladi Bala on Saturday, with a wide margin at the 11th triennial delegates conference where she defeated Ladi Bala.
Periscope Nigeria recalls that Bura lost to Ladi in 2020 at Minna delegate conference, Niger State but re-strategised and returned this year to achieve her dream.
Other candidate under the umbrella “Team-Unite” who emerged include Wasilan Ladan, as National Secretary of NAWOJ, Lillian Okonkwo emerged National Deputy President and Adeola Adekunle as Vice President, B Zone, and Jamila Abubakar Chinwe has been elected as the National Auditor
