The former speaker of Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Sulaiman of the Peoples Democratic Party, has returned elected defeating his close contender Khalid Abdulmalik Ningi, of All Progressives Congress.
Following the conclusion of the rerun election conducted in Ningi central constituency the local government returning officer, Professor Ahmad Abdulhamid, announced that after scoring total votes of 11,785 Sulaiman returns elected defeating among others, Ningi of the APC who scored 10,339.
Meanwhile, in a related development, the former Deputy Speaker Jamilu Umaru Dahiru of the PDP has been declared winner of the Bauchi Central Constituency Rerun Election.
Declaring the result at Bauchi local government INEC Office the returning officer, Professor Ismail Shehu, said Dahiru scored cumulative votes of 45,240 while his closest rival Aliyu Abdullahi Ilellah of APC scored 41,265.
