One day, I lie down for bed since morning,
dey shake under my mama wrapper.
Sickness no allow me go school.
So I just dey dia dey look ceiling.
 
“You no go go play ball outside?”
I commot head from under wrapper
to see who dey talk.
I look left, I look right,
I no see anybody.
 
“Mumu, 4 o’clock don nack o,
You no go go play ball outside?”
My ear carry my eye look
where de voice from come.
You no go believe sey na
bulb dey follow me talk.
 
I shock.
Fear catch me.
I cover my two ear.
But dat one no stop de weyrey.
“You no go go play ball outside?”
“Mama! Mama!”, I shout.
 
Na so fan wey hang for ceiling chook mouth
for de matter.
 
“Leave am, no be sey im sabi play ball like dat sef.”
 
Dat talk vex me.
I nearly vex answer dia two,
But why I go dey follow bulb and fan talk?
 
Na so bulb come talk wetin pain me well well:
“You nor wan follow us talk? Your mama!”
“Bulb, wetin you talk?”, I sey make I answer dem.
“You hear wetin I talk!”
“If dem born you well, talk am again!”
“Your mama!”
“My mama?”
“Yes, your mama!”
 
Na so I stand up from under
My mama wrapper, climb chair.
Before I fit do wetin I wan do, I hear:
“Chinekeme! Chinedu, wetin you dey do?”
 
I answer, “Mama, bulb dey curse my mama”
Mama grab my hand rush me go hospital.
Na dia I dey until I well.
