The Supreme Court is set to deliver a highly anticipated judgement on the appeal filed by Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, candidate Social Democratic Party, SDP, on Friday August 23, 2024, that could have significant implications for Nigeria’s democracy and constitution.
The judgement relates to the use of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) as it concerns the November 11, 2023, Kogi governorship election.
According to a press statement released by SDP, all democracy advocates and supporters of Muritala Yakubu Ajaka are cordially invited to attend the judgement.
The statement, signed by Isaiah Davies Ijele, Director of New Media and Spokesperson for the campaign council, expressed eagerness for the public’s presence at the judgment, stating that “all democracy enthusiasts are welcome to attend.”
