The serene atmosphere of Jos, Plateau State, was filled with joy and celebration as Mr Timothy Mutfwang, son of the Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, tied the knot with Miss Anastasia, daughter of Ambassador Nanyah Andrew. The holy matrimony was held at the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) Headquarters, Fidelis Tapgun Road, Jos.

The well-attended wedding ceremony drew dignitaries from across Nigeria, including top politicians, serving governors, deputy governors, traditional rulers, religious leaders and alike.
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, who joined other guests to celebrate the union, was represented by Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Dr Manassah Daniel Jatau.
In a goodwill message, the governor’s representative who was accompanied by the Commissioner of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, Dr. Barnabas Malle, congratulated the families of Governor Caleb Mutfwang and Ambassador Nanyah Andrew, as well as the newlywed, for the successful solemnisation of their marriage. He described marriage as a divine institution and the cornerstone of every peaceful and progressive society.
He emphasised that “strong and godly families are the foundation for societal cohesion and peaceful coexistence.” He further advised the couple to build their union on love, understanding, and faith in God, noting that a harmonious home contributes to building a harmonious society.”

The marriage was solemnised by the President of COCIN, Rev. Dr. Amos Musa Mohzo, who officially joined the couple as husband and wife and presented them with their marriage certificate amid cheers from the congregation.
The sermon, delivered by Rev. Dr. Ephraim Gongden of the Anglican Church, was drawn from John 2:1–11 under the theme “Towards a Successful Marriage.” He admonished the couple to anchor their home on three key principles: inviting Jesus into their marriage, calling upon Him in times of need, and obeying His instructions.
Drawing lessons from the wedding at Cana in Galilee, Rev. Gongden noted that when the “wine” of joy seems to be running out in marriage, only Jesus can restore peace and happiness. He reminded the couple that every marriage experiences both joyous and turbulent moments, but steadfast faith in Christ ensures stability.
In a heartfelt thanksgiving message, Governor Caleb Mutfwang expressed profound gratitude to God for the successful wedding ceremony of his son and daughter-in-law. He appreciated the presence of dignitaries, friends, and well-wishers from within and outside the state who honoured the occasion with their presence, prayers, and goodwill. The Governor noted that the union was a testimony of God’s faithfulness and prayed for His continued blessings upon the young couple.
He said, “We are deeply grateful to God Almighty for making this day a reality. It is our prayer that He who has joined Timothy and Anastasia together will sustain their home in love, peace, and understanding. On behalf of my family, I sincerely thank everyone who has rejoiced with us and supported this celebration in one way or the other.”
The colourful ceremony climaxed with a grand wedding reception at Langfield Events Centre, Barkin Ladi Road, where family, friends, and well-wishers rejoiced with the couple in an atmosphere of love, music, and celebration.
