Former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, on Friday declared that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) remains the best option for Nigerians seeking liberation from the worsening insecurity and economic hardship under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Atiku, who was the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in the 2019 and 2023 elections, made the assertion while commissioning the ADC Secretariat in Jalingo.
Calling on Nigerians to support his party to wrestle power from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, Atiku expressed optimism that the ADC would restore the country to “its days of glory,” free from insecurity and hardship.
The former Vice President, who was accompanied by party loyalists from Adamawa, Bauchi, and Kano States, also urged supporters and eligible voters to register and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
“Without registering to obtain your voter card and exercising your franchise, your efforts and determination to change the government in 2027 will be in vain.
“It is unfortunate that the present government deceived you and plunged the country into a lack of peace, hunger, poverty, and joblessness. The APC brought nothing to the people except poverty and insecurity. I call on you to vote for leaders who will make your lives meaningful again.
“ADC is the only option you have to get liberated from the current predicament. The party will return Nigeria to its days of glory, free from insecurity and hardship,” Atiku stated.
Earlier, the Taraba State Chairman of ADC, Hassan Adamu, assured supporters that the party would win the state in the next general elections.
“In 2027, ADC will form the government in Taraba and deliver the desired development for the citizens. We will ensure that our party wins from the presidential election down to the state assembly,” he said.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that the ADC members of the state transition committee, headed by Senator Abubakar Tutare as Chairman and Barr. Haruna Kwetishe as Secretary, have also been inaugurated.
